Made In India tag has become trendy and visitors from abroad prefer to buy Indian things, said experts Thursday at Pride & Prejudice event here.
Raseel Gujral Ansal, lifestyle designer and co-founder of lifestyle brand Casa Paradox, said: "The 'Made In India' tag exemplifies Indian designs and they are no longer likened to cheap luxury. We have achieved this in fashion, hospitality and even films now."
The designer was speaking on the theme Indian Lifestyle - From Luxury to Simplicity at Pride & Prejudice event, organised by Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO).
The discussion was also attended by Aman Nath, co-chairman, Neemrana Hotels and Jamal Shaikh, editorial director, Robb Report.
The session was moderated by Sujata Assomull Sippy, fashion columnist and brand strategist.
"I love luxury projects made in India. Made in India was not considered luxury, but it is heartening to see that this has changed," Shaikh said while pointing out the changing scenario for India products.
The speakers said that the country might not be at number one in technology or cars, but they are leading in other fields.
"We have the best brains, intellect, value system made in India," said Shaikh.
India, its culture and its ethnic products have always fascinated foreigners.
"Friends, who come from abroad, often look to buy Indian things. This is a reason to be proud," Nath said.
