It took nine hours for actor Faran Tahir to get into the character's look in TV show "The Magicians".
In the show, Tahir essays the role of the brother of Winter's Doe aka The White Lady.
"The make-up for my character alone took nine-hour sessions at the hand of expert make-up artists. It always humbles me how collaborative the performing arts form is. Without all creatives working in harmony one would never be able to make an idea like this into a reality," Tahir told IANS.
"The Magicians" is based on the novel by the same name by Lev Grossman.
Revealed as The Great Cock of the Darkling Woods, Tahir's character is a magical creature who serves as an aid to the High King of Fillory, Eliot Waugh.
While the character is primarily menacing, he also has a wicked sense of humour which is why him and Eliot end up connecting with each other.
Tahir's character has been introduced in the fantasy show's third season.
The 53-year-old actor can also be seen in shows like "Scandal" and "12 Monkeys".
