A young man was arrested for battering his friend to death with a brick under the influence of alcohol in north Delhi, police said on Saturday.
Police said accused Rajveer, 25, was arrested from Sangam Vihar area of Burari after he killed Sunny, 24, around 11 p.m. on Friday at a deserted plot in Sangam Vihar.
"Both were sharing rented accommodation for 14 years. Under the influence of alcohol, both had a heated argument over a trivial issue. In the subsequent fight, Rajveer hit Sunny repeatedly on the head with a brick, killing him on the spot," Deputy Commissioner of Police Jatin Narwal told IANS.
Passers-by alerted the police after their heard cries of help from a badly injured Sunny before he died, the officer said. Rajveer was arrested from the spot by beat policemen.
