A man burnt alive his wife and two minor children in Bihar's Darbhanga district after heated exchanges early Wednesday, police said.
Accused Mohammad Harun of Tektar Muslim Tola village is on the run. A case was lodged against him by his mother-in-law.
Harun allegedly set his wife Rukhsana Khatoon, 32, son Dilshad, 4, and daughter Ena, 2, on fire in a room of their house and locked it from outside.
All three were burnt alive, Kamtaul Station House Officer Rajkumar Rai said.
Police said Harun was angry after his wife repeatedly asked him to move outside Bihar to earn a livelihood instead of indulging in petty crime. The couple regularly quarrelled over the issue and Harun used to beat his wife, police added.
