Maoist guerrillas set on fire a truck in Jharkhand's Khuti district on Friday, burning to death its driver, police said.
The truck carrying pipes from Odisha to Jharkhand was intercepted early in the morning by the Maoists in Kudapurti village on the Khuti-Ranchi highway. The deceased was identified as Yoga Singh.
A Maoist 24-hour shutdown in Jharkhand on Friday against Jharkhand Police operations impacted life in rural areas of the state.
Long-route buses were off the roads in Khuti, Lohardagga, Gumla and other districts even as bauxite transportation was affected in Lohardagga district.
