Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna believes their English Premier League (EPL) title resolve will not be shaken despite a 1-2 loss to Arsenal as there is plenty of football to be played.

With the loss at the Emirates statdium on Monday, City have fallen four points behind second placed Arsenal, who have 36 points. Leicester City are on top of the table at Christmas after 17 rounds of matches. City have won 10 times and lost five.

But the France international said they have quality in their ranks and many games are left to be played to turn it around.

"It's not a blow personally, I want to keep working hard, I want to fight to the end because we have many games to catch up. Of course we have a gap now but as I said the league is going to be very long," Sagna told the club's website mcfc.co.uk.

"We have to play them at home, we have to play Leicester so we have to keep the head up keep working and keep sticking together," the 32-year-old said.

Asked what City need to do to return to winning ways the ex-Arsenal star reflected: "A bit of luck and a bit of quality going forward and defending."

"We conceded two goals and as a defender I can't be happy about that. But we need to communicate a bit more, to focus a bit more and to stick together as team a bit more and I think it will be okay."
