A man escaped from his burning car early on Saturday after it caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The Indigo car was coming from Noida and was headed to Agra when it suddenly burst into flames near Naujheel in Mathura district.
The driver, Yashpal, broke the window pane to escape the inferno he was trapped in. The vehicle was completely gutted, a police officer said.
Yashpal told the police that he was driving at normal speed when he saw giant flames leaping out of the engine.
Owing to the incident, there was a huge traffic snarl on the Expressway.
