A district court here Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to a man for killing his one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl.
Sanjay Kumar, a 25-year-old labourer from Bihar, was held guilty for killing the child.
Sessions Judge Shekhar Dhawan announced life term for Sanjay saying he deserved the punishment.
According to police, Sanjay snatched the young girl, Rubi, from his wife Uma Devi and threw her on the ground. The baby died instantly.
Uma Devi, 23, said in her complaint that she and Sanjay got married after a one-year courtship and lived in a rented accommodation in Gurgaon.
They had a son before the birth of Rubi. Sanjay accused Uma Devi of having illicit relations with her sister's husband who too lived in the same area.
On May 27, Uma visited her sister's house. Sanjay killed the child when she returned home alleging she (victim) was not his daughter.
