A 38-year-old man was arrested under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime (MCOCA) Act on charges of involvement in human trafficking here, Delhi Police said on Thursday.

Damodar Pandey, who works as a manager of a brothel on the GB Road, was arrested on Tuesday night during a raid near the NPL Parade Ground in Kingsway Camp in central district.

Pandey was involved in trafficking girls and forcing them into flesh trade, police said.

According to police, the particular brothel was run by a couple, Saira Begum and Afaq Hussain, who were arrested in August.

"We have launched a massive action to curb activities of a criminal syndicate involved in human trafficking and prostitution on the GB Road; we have invoked provisions of MCOCA against them," Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Crime Branch, Ravindra Yadav said.

Police are looking for those involved in the trafficking racket.
