Man held on Bangladesh border with Rs.30 lakh-worth gold

An Indian national entering India from Bangladesh was arrested Tuesday in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district with unaccounted gold worth Rs.30 lakh, an official said.

Troopers of the 152 battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) arrested 31-year-old Arizul Molla at Amudia outpost, said the official.

A gold bar and five gold biscuits totally weighing 1.1 kg were recovered from him.

The South Bengal Frontier BSF have seized over 57 kg of gold and arrested 35 smugglers so far in 2014.
