A 32-year-old man was shot dead outside his home here Monday allegedly by a youth whom he had scolded a few days ago for stalking his niece, police said.
Owais Khan was shot dead in east Delhi's Jafrabad area around 3.45 a.m..
"Khan was spotted lying outside his home by a neighbour. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead," said a police officer.
The victim's family told police that Khan went outside his home after receiving a call on his mobile.
Police said they were looking for a youth, whose name was withheld, for killing Khan.
Khan had scolded the youth for stalking his niece, the police officer said.
"Khan registered a complaint against the accused in Bhajan Pura police station Sunday after the jilted lover opened indiscriminate firing outside the home of his niece," he said.
