A man has been arrested for killing a call centre owner here after he refused a partnership deal, a Delhi police officer said on Tuesday.
Police said the accused has been identified as Rahul Rai, a resident of Sector 35 in Rohini. He was arrested on Saturday from Nagaldargu village in Haryana's Narnaul following a tip-off.
The incident took place on October 19, when one Bittoo informed police regarding a quarrel in a call centre in Badli area.
When the police reached the spot, they found the body of Priyanshu lying in a pool of blood.
"During investigation, Bittoo, a friend of Priyanshu who used to stay in the call centre premises, told police that he along with Priyanshu was running the call centre," Deputy Commissioner of Police Rishi Pal said.
A local bully, Rahul Rai, was threatening them to accept his offer of partnership in the business and attacked Priyanshu when he refused, he said.
"Rai was later apprehended from Narnaul with the help of technical surveillance," Pal said.
During interrogation, Rai disclosed that he wanted to take over the business of Priyanshu.
He had initially tried to kidnap and force Bittoo to sign an agreement but failed. Priyanshu, on the other hand, tried to defer the deal to avoid direct confrontation with him, the officer added.
"On the day of the crime, Rai came to talk to Bittoo and Priyanshu but they refused his partnership deal. Rai then asked for the customers calling data from Priyanshu."
"When he refused to hand it over, Rai stabbed him multiple times with a knife. He then escaped with his laptop and other documents after Bittoo raised an alarm," he added.
