A man killed his wife here after repeatedly attacking her with a hammer over a suspected affair, police said on Monday.
The incident took place following a heated argument between the accused Vinod and the victim Savita at their residence in west Delhi's Mangolpuri area on Monday.
"During investigation, it was found Vinod and Savita often had heated arguments. He suspected that Savita had an extra-marital affair," a senior police officer said.
"This time the argument got ugly after Vinod pulled out a hammer and repeatedly hit Savita's head. He escaped after the murder and is on the loose," the officer added.
