Rome, April 19 (IANS/AKI) A 26-year-old man shot himself dead at the Roma III university on Tuesday.
Paramedics found the young man lying dead in a pool of blood outside the engineering faculty, a pistol clasped in his hand.
A witness was taken to hospital in a state of shock after seeing the man put the pistol to his head and pull the trigger, Rome-based daily La Repubblica reported.
Roma III's rector Mario Panizza suspended teaching and lectures for the day saying the university was "shocked and saddened" at the engineering student's death.
