A 22-year-old man was shot dead outside a cafe here by his friends after an altercation over some issue. Police on Tuesday evening arrested four people involved in the crime.

Mohit Jhanghu was shot dead by Abhishek Dhaiya alias Nitu and his friends in the upscale Palam Vihar market late on Monday night, police said.

Jhanghu, a resident of Daultabad village near Gurgaon, was known to Nitu who hailed from nearby Dhanwapur village.

On Tuesday evening, Abhishek Dhaiya, Deepankar, a resident of Madanpuri in Gurgaon, Brijesh alias Noni, a resident of Sector 71 here, and Bobi, also a resident of Dhanwapur, were arrested. All the arrested are in their early 20s.

Police said they had a scuffle a few days back but became friends after other people intervened.

CCTV footage revealed a few people were standing outside the cafe when suddenly Nitu and his accomplice shot at Jhanghu and fled the spot.

Jhanghu was rushed to a hospital but doctors declared him dead. He received four bullets. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

The culprits were arrested from Himgiri Chowk in Gurgaon by a crime branch team led by Jitender Rana.

"Two of them are college students, we are questioning them. They will be produced before a court on Wednesday," Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajesh Kumar told IANS.
