A 35-year-old man accused of raping a woman whom he befriended on the social media has been arrested, police said on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police G. Ram Gopal Naik said that Sanat Bindra, who lives in Jangpura area here, was arrested on Saturday evening near the Lajpat Nagar metro station.
The victim alleged that Bindra invited her to his house after they became friends on Facebook, confined her there for seven days and repeatedly assaulted her sexually and tortured her. This case was registered in January.
"He was declared a proclaimed offender by the Saket Court," the officer said,
