A woman from London and a man from Derby appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court in London Saturday on terrorism charges.
Munir Hassan Mohammed, 36, of Derby and Rowaida El Hassan, 32, of Willeston Lane, London were remanded in custody by the court, Xinhua news agency reported.
Both were charged with engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism and possessing a record of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
Mohammed was also charged with belonging to a proscribed organisation and dissemination of terrorist material.
Mohammed and El Hassan were among six people arrested on December 12 in Derby, Burton on Trent and London. The remaining four individuals have since been released without charge.
