Actor Murli Sharma, who got an opportunity to work in the Telugu and Tamil remake Marathi movie "Shikshanacha Aaicha Gho", is all praise for Mahesh Manjrekar, saying the National Award winning actor-filmmaker's work is rich in content and a treat for the audience.
"If you watch Mahesh dada's some of the Marathi films, you will see that they are very rich in content. He has made some of the beautiful Marathi films," Murli said here Thursday at the screening of the film "The Saint Who Thought Otherwise" starring Manjrekar as the saint. The film came out Friday.
Known for directing acclaimed Hindi films like "Vaastav: The Reality", "Astitva" and "Viruddh... Family Comes First", Manjrekar also went behind the camera for Marathi movies like "Fakta Ladh Mhana" (as a writer) and "Kaksparsh" (as a director), besides "Shikshanacha Aaicha Gho".
Besides, his Marathi films "Shyamchi Aai" and "Beed Cha Raaja" are in the pipeline.
"His films are so rich in the content that these are like like a treat, especially the Marathi films that he is making now," added the 49-year-old.
Meanwhile, Murli has films like "Policegiri", "My Friend Ganesha 4", Atul Agnithori's "O Teri" and Neil Nitin Muekesh starrer "Dusshera" in his kitty. The actor is happy about it, but says character artist get lesser opportunities.
