A diploma-holding doctor has been arrested here on charges of sodomising a 13-year-old boy, police said Wednesday.
Police arrested the doctor from his clinic in Mahavidhya Colony Tuesday evening, after the boy's family members filed a complaint.
The boy's family told police that the doctor had been sexually abusing him for some time and had also threatened him.
The doctor Tuesday called the boy and sodomised him in his clinic. The boy went home and informed his family members who contacted police. A medical test confirmed the sexual act.
Police officer Anil Kumar said the doctor was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and section 377 of the Indian Penal Code.
