Maximum drugs seized during election in Punjab: EC

A massive 185,000 kgs of drugs was seized across the country during this election with Punjab topping the list at 139,000 kg, the Election Commission said Monday.

In Uttar Pradesh, 24,000 kg of drugs was seized and Rajasthan 10,000 kg, the commission said.

The amount of cash which was seized across the country stood at Rs. 3.13 billion and the total amount of liquor confiscated was nearly 20 million litres.

The total number of FIRs which were filed for poll violations was 75,306 and 20,349 teams of flying squads were deployed by the election commission.
