Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has summoned her legislators from Uttar Pradesh to New Delhi for "detailed discussions" on the party strategy for the state assembly polls in 2017.
Mayawati has also summoned all the senior party office bearers to New Delhi for discussions, a party leader told IANS.
The agenda of the meeting includes discussions on the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections as well as Uttar Pradesh legislative council polls.
Based on its legislative strength in the Uttar Pradesh state assembly, the BSP can send two members to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of parliament.
The party is likely to repeat Satish Mishra as one of its candidates for the Rajya Sabha.
The other candidate is likely to be from a Dalit community, the party leader said.
The BSP also has to name three candidates for the UP legislative council.
