Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to witness the high profile India vs South Africa World Cup Pool B match here Sunday.
He later expressed his feelings on Twitter about visiting the historic 90,000 capacity stadium.
"Always special to be back at cricket stadiums. Atmosphere at the MCG is fantastic! #CWC15 #IndvsSA," tweeted the 41-year-old, also posting a selfie with the crowd in the background.
Tendulkar was seen sitting and having a discussion with International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dave Richardson. Tendulkar, regarded as the greatest batsman of the modern era, is the brand ambassador of the ICC World Cup 2015.
The crowd at the iconic stadium erupted in loud cheers, chanting "Sachin! Sachin!" after they got a glimpse of the former right-hand batsman on the big screens at the ground. Tendulkar, in response, waved to the jubilant spectators.
Later, several photos of Tendulkar went viral on social networking sites where he was seen in-and-around the stadium.
The Mumbaikar was part of India's 2011 World Cup-winning squad.
