Delhi Police Tuesday received a certificate of recognition from the external affairs ministry for high level of service, commitment and contribution to good governance by way of speedy verification of passport applications during 2013-14, an official said Tuesday.
The award was given by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on the occasion of "Passport Sewa Diwas" at the Jawaharlal Nehru Bhavan in central Delhi.
"Delhi Police was adjudged one of the four best police forces in the states and union territories that received the award for submitting verification reports within 13 to 19 days," the official said.
The award was received by Special Commissioner of Police (Intelligence) S.B.K. Singh.
