Singer Mel C has reportedly pulled out of the Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion in order to focus on her solo career.

The girl group -- Mel C, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell -- were set to reunite despite fifth member Victoria Beckham's refusal to take part, but plans are in chaos now that Mel C has also pulled out, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Mel C is out of the reunion for now. She has essentially left the band to focus on a more serious music career. She loves the girls but it just didn't feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment".

"She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn't going to be part of the reunion," the insider added.

Victoria, wife of English football great David Beckham, had previously ruled herself out in order to focus on her fashion business but despite Mel's recent decision, the other three members are said to be determined to mark the upcoming anniversary.

The insider said: "They are arranging a number of meetings which include the option for a tour, possibly with just the three of them or with other singers. There have even been the suggestions of a Spice Girls talent show. It would be an absolute TV sensation".
