The mercury dropped further in Jammu and Kashmir with the minimum temperature Friday recorded at minus 10.3 degrees Celsius in Leh town.
Dense fog caused problems for motorists and commuters in Srinagar city, which recorded the coldest night so far this season at minus 1.2 degrees Celsius against minus 0.3 degrees Celsius Thursday, a Met department official told IANS.
"The minimum temperature in Pahalgam was minus 3.5 degrees Celsius and minus 1.5 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg," the official said.
Ladakh region's Leh town was the coldest place in the state. The minimum temperature in Kargil town was recorded at minus 9.8 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Jammu was recorded at 9.7 degrees Celsius.
The Met Office has forecast dry weather during the next three to four days.
