The temperature in many parts of Uttar Pradesh has registered a drop, heralding the first signs of winter, a weather official said.
Regional Met Office Director J.P. Gupta said on Wednesday in the next few days, the mercury is likely to witness a drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius.
Mist is also likely to increase in the coming days, making the mornings and evenings a bit cold, he added.
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Lucknow is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 21 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Gorakhpur would be 22 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, and 24 degrees Celsius in Kanpur and Allahabad.
Officials of education department have said the school timings are likely to be changed from next week owing to the drop in mercury in the morning.
As of now, the timing for schools is 7.30 a.m., which is likely to be pushed ahead by an hour.
