Hours after dismissing rumours of a possible move to English club Manchester City and Chelsea, Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has again hinted at a possible departure from Spanish club FC Barcelona after the current season.
"I am not sure where I will be next year," Messi said to reporters before the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony Monday.
He lost out to Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo in the Ballon d'Or race, coming in second for the second year in a row. He is a four-time world player of the year.
Messi also casted doubts on a possible move to Argentine club Newell's Old Boys, where he played as a youth.
Messi said he wanted to finish his career at FC Barcelona but was unsure of his future as things change rapidly in football.
"I am not sure If I will go back to Newell's Old Boys one day, I have always said that I will end my career at Barcelona but as Cristiano (Ronaldo) said: 'Only God knows the future.' Things in football can change overnight," added the 27-year-old.
