Metro services were halted in Delhi after strong tremors were felt in the capital city.
A Delhi Metro spokesperson told IANS that the services were halted around 12.38 p.m. after the tremors were felt.
"Thereafter train services stopped and resumed around 12.45 p.m." the official said.
Thousands of passengers across the Metro service felt the tremors.
"I was inside the train when the Metro stopped at the Jor Bagh station. I could not feel the tremors initially as the train was moving, but after the train halted the tremors could be felt," Preeti Mehra, an advertising professional, told IANS.
Mehra added that while the train services have resumed, "they are moving at a slow pace".
