English football club Manchester City's midfielder Yaya Toure believes beating Juventus and guaranteeing top spot in the European Champions League Group D match on Wednesday will get them back in the groove again after Saturday's crushing home defeat to Liverpool in the English Premier League (EPL).

While a defeat wouldn't mean City couldn't still finish group winners a draw or better would leave Manuel Pellegrini's men in control of their own fate with a home game against Borussia Monchengladbach still to come.

"It's important for the confidence of our supporters and it's important for us to also put in a strong performance. A couple of years ago, we were in this competition and we didn't finish in the top two. I think the key is to finish first for the first time and if we could do it with one game to spare, so much the better," Toure told the club's website, mcfc.com on Tuesday."

"I don't know what will happen in Turin. For us, the target is to finish first and get a kind draw in the Round of 16 and then continue onwards because it's a target to get as far as we can in this competition."

The Ivorian international also thinks that City are capable of winning the EPL and FA Cup as well as the Champions League.

In the EPL, they are currently third after Leicester City (28 points) and Manchester United (27 points) with 26 points from 13 matches.

"The target of this club this year is try to achieve any trophy possible and we are still going strong in all of them this season," the 32-year-old said.

"We know it will be difficult to win everything, but we'll be trying as hard as we can because we have the squad, we have the players and I think if everything is right at the right time, we can perform and beat anybody."
