Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Thursday instructed all zonal railway officials to lodge police complaints against individuals and organisations misusing his name to obtain favours from the ministry.
The minister gave the instruction after coming to know that his name was being "misused" by many people and organisations, a railway media release said.
He instructed all zonal railways that "request from any individual/organisation giving reference to my name for seeking any favour from the railways should not be entertained".
All such requests will now be brought to the notice of the minister's secretariat.
He also instructed that First Information Reports may also be lodged, if necessary, to book such culprits who misuse his name, the release said.
