Minsk to host European Games in 2019

Minsk will host the second edition of the European games in 2019, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced on Friday.

Lukashenko announced the choice of Minsk during the meeting of the Association of European Olympic Committees,reports Efe.

The Games were pending an urgent decision on its next venue, after the Netherlands, which was originally chosen to stage the second edition of the games pulled out.

The first edition of the European Games was held in 2015 in Baku (Azerbaijan).
