Hollywood actress Mireille Enos, who gave birth to her baby before shooting for the first season of American crime drama television series "The Killing", said it was difficult for her to shoot post-delivery, but she and her husband made it a family event.
Enos, who was born to an American father and a French mother, is married to "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" actor Alan Ruck. She gave birth to daughter Vesper Vivianne Ruck in September 2010.
Enos along with her husband and child went to Vancouver where her baby used to accompany her to the sets.
"It was difficult; we just made it a family event. My husband, daughter, and I all travelled to Vancouver together and my husband's an actor as well and so he said for this first season I'm just going to take some time and be daddy.
"So we would all pack up every morning and go to the set. The baby used to be there with me in the trailer and it was definitely challenging, but it worked," Enos told IANS in an email interview.
The 37-year-old further added that the idea of taking her baby on the sets worked well and the little one was up for an adventure.
"You know it worked really well and luckily our baby, she's really up for an adventure ... it seemed appropriate that she would be part of every moment of this adventure," she said.
The protagonist of the show based on the Danish TV series Forbrydelsen (literally The Crime), was five months pregnant when she shot the pilot of the first season.
Then she took a break and shot rest of the season. "The Killing" finally went on air internationally in April 2011.
"They had originally wanted to start shooting in early November, but that didn't give me much recovery time so they had agreed to postpone the start of the series for a little while, so I had my daughter at the end of September and we started two months later at the end of November," said Enos, who is playing detective Sarah Linden in the show that will now be aired on India's FX channel starting from Monday.
In "The Killing", she is acting as a detective who is set to walk away from her job and marry fiance Rick Felder, and move her child and her life from Seattle to Sonoma, California. However, the murder of Rosie Larsen brings about change in plans.
The show has earned her an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actress in a drama series.
"The Killing" was created by Veena Sud, and is executive produced by Sud and Mikkel Bondesen. Dawn Prestwich, Nicole Yorkin, Kristen Campo and Ron French serve as co-executive producers.
Enos has been seen in films like "Someone Like You", "World War Z" among others and has also been a part of television series "Big Love" in which she played Kathy and Jodeen Marquart (twin sisters).
