Mobile connectivity inside tunnels of the Kolkata Metro railways is expected to be provided before pujas this year, an official statement said on Wednesday.
"Mobile connectivity inside tunnels is expected to be provided before pujas 2016," said the Kolkata Metro railways statement.
The authority will increase frequency of trains during evening peak hours from 8 minutes to 6 minutes while wifi facilities will be provided at 17 metro stations from Dum Dum to Tollygunj (Mahanayak Uttam Kumar) by June 15, it said.
At present, wifi is available in two stations - Park Street and Maidan - only.
The city metro railway also said at present 278 services are available between Dum Dum to Tollygunj, but will go up to 300 from August after commissioning of the third platform.
