Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Wednesday accorded a ceremonial welcome with full military honours here after arriving in the Canadian capital on Tuesday evening on the final leg of his three-nation tour.
The prime minister, who was welcomed by his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper in the Canadian capital, was given a gun salute and inspected a guard of honour.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian prime minister met Canadian Governor General David Johnston at the latter's official residence, Rideau Hall.
Modi will hold talks with Harper over a working lunch later in the day.
Modi will then head to Toronto -- Canada' most populous city -- where he will attend a diaspora event in the evening.
On Thursday, Modi will attend a pension fund meeting followed by business level meetings. He will also visit the Air India Memorial in Toronto.
His next stop will be Vancouver, where he is scheduled to visit the Laxmi Narayan Temple and interact with the Indian community. He will also visit a gurdwara.
After attending a state dinner hosted by Harper, Modi will fly back to India.
This is the first bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister to Canada in 42 years
