Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed grief at the 'unfortunate demise' of legendary singer Asha Bhosle's son.
"Dear @ashabhosle Tai, pained on the unfortunate demise of your son. My thoughts are with you during this hour of grief," a post on the official Twitter handle of Modi read.
Asha's eldest son Hemant passed away on Monday after a long battle with cancer. He breathed his last in Scotland.
He passed away on the 86th birthday of Asha's elder sister Lata Mangeshkar.
Hemant was also a music director with songs like "Jage jage nainon mein" and "Nazrana Pyar Ka" to his credit.
Earlier in the day, Lata thanked Modi for his wishes on her birthday.
