Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated newly appointed British Prime Minister Theresa May and said he was looking forward to working with her for stronger ties between the two countries.
"Congratulations to @theresa_may on taking over as the new UK PM. Looking forward to working with her for stronger India-UK ties," Modi tweeted.
The Prime Minister also appreciated former British Prime Minister David Cameron for his contribution toward India-Britain ties.
"I also appreciate the significant contribution of @David_Cameron in strengthening India-UK ties," he said in another tweet.
Theresa May on Wednesday became Britain's second female Prime Minister.
