Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted the people of the country on the occasion of Kutchi New Year.
"On Kutchi New Year, the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Bij, greetings to those celebrating. Praying for a year filled with joy and prosperity," Modi said in a statement here.
Kutchi New Year is observed on the second day of the 'shukla paksha' or waxing phase of moon in Ashada month -- Ashad Beej or Dwitiya. This Hindu New Year is observed in the Kutch region in Gujarat.
