Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted the nation on the occasion of the New Year and wished that it brings prosperity and better health to all.
"People across India are celebrating the start of the New Year...greetings to everyone. May the year bring peace, joy and prosperity," Modi tweeted.
The occassion is celebrated with different names in various regions and communities, so likewise the Prime Minister brought a little personalisation with his localised greetings.
He wished Gudi Padva to Maharashtrians, Cheti Chand to Sindhis, Ugadi to people of mid-southern states, Navreh to Kashmiris and Sajibu Cheiraoba to Manipuris -- a variety of names with which new year is referred-- in several tweets.
