Modi lauds Pawar's agriculture policy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attended the 75th birthday celebrations of former union minister Sharad Pawar at Vigyan Bhawan here, hailing the NCP chief's contribution to the nation's agriculture sector.
The prime minister also released a book "On My Terms" written by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder-president.
The prime minister also praised Pawar's "modern" and "scientific" approach to agriculture and his contribution to the sector, the PMO said in a statement.
Modi described Pawar's political career as one born out of productive pursuits.
