Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met presidents of the European Commission and the European Council, Jean-Claude Juncker and Donald Tusk, on the sidelines of the two-day G20 Summit meeting here.
"Continent wide engagement with Europe. PM @narendramodi meets Prez Tusk of @EUCouncil & Prez Juncker of EU Comm'n," external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.
While the European Commission is the executive body of the European Union (EU) responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions and upholding the EU treaties and managing the day-to-day business of the EU, the European Council is one of the bicameral EU legislature, the other being the European Parliament.
