Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday praised the efforts of doctors in creating a "healthy India".
"On Doctor's Day, I salute the efforts of the doctor community and wish them the very best in their efforts to create a healthy India," Modi tweeted.
The National Doctor's Day is celebrated on July 1 across India to honour the legendary physician and second chief minister of West Bengal Bidhan Chandra Roy.
Roy was born July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962. He was honoured with the country's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, in 1961.
