Modi to address three rallies in Bihar in August

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address three rallies in Bihar next month to bolster BJP prospects in the coming assembly elections, a party leader said here on Wednesday.

The rallies would be held at Gaya on August 9, Saharsa on August 19 and Bhagalpur on August 30. Gaya is about 100 km from state capital Patna.

Modi addressed a rally in Muzaffarpur on July 25.

"Modi may address more public meetings in the state ahead of the coming polls," the BJP leader said here.

"The Bihar unit of BJP had requested the prime minister to address at least three more rallies after the Muzaffarpur one," senior party leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said.

According to BJP leaders here, BJP has decided to speed up its campaign aggressively to counter the grand alliance of Janata Dal-United, Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party.

BJP president Amit Shah launched the party's high-tech 'Parivartan Rath' campaign for the assembly polls on July 16 in Patna.

Shah flagged off 160 GPS-fitted raths (chariots) to reach out to the people in all villages across the state.

The term of Bihar assembly will end in November this year.
