BJP chief Amit Shah Sunday credited the party's spectacular showing in Maharashtra and Haryana to the "Modi wave", and said the party will form the government in both states.
Amit Shah said the assembly election results in the two states proved the "Modi wave" continues to be a tsunami.
"...for those who thought Modi wave is over, this is proof that it's still a tsunami that can crush all competition," Amit Shah said.
He also said it proved people have chosen Narendra Modi as their "undisputed leader".
"The people of India not only chose Modiji as their prime minister, but today it has been proven that the people of the country accept him as the undisputed leader. It is a stamp of approval on the working and functioning of the Narendra Modi government," he said.
"We will form government in both states, and in both states the situation is such that Congress will not be able to have a leader of opposition. Congress is at number three position in both states and our mission for Congress-free India has moved a step ahead. I will thank the people of both states," he added.
Asked about the possibility of an alliance with the Shiv Sena, Shah said: "We never tried to break the alliance, nor were we responsible for the break-up. Years old friendship was broken for a few seats."
Regarding Nationalist Congress Party's (NCP) support to BJP, he said: "Praful Patel has extended outside support to BJP, we are not forming an alliance with them."
