A Meghalaya Police officer, who was placed under suspension for allegedly molesting a woman, committed suicide at his house on Monday, police said.
Sub Inspector Madan Basumatary hanged himself in his official quarter at the state police reserve in capital Shillong, city police chief Vivek Syiem said.
Basumatary for arrested for allegedly molesting the woman at the police reserve.
"He was placed under suspension after he was accused of molesting a woman. We are still investigating into the alleged molestation," Syiem said.
