More officers in Haryana could face action in the coming days for their role during the violence connected with the Jat pro-reservation agitation, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Sunday.
The state government will go by the Prakash Singh committee report and initiate disciplinary action against all officers/officials found guilty of lapses during the widespread violence in February, the chief minister told the media in Karnal.
The government on Friday suspended three Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officers and 10 deputy superintendents of police.
The police officials were posted in violence-hit areas of Kalanaur, Rohtak, Meham, Beri, Hansi, Loharu, Gohana and Ganaur.
Khattar said action has been taken against one Inspector General-level officer also.
The government action comes in the wake of submission of an inquiry report by the Parkash Singh committee which held around 90 civil and police officials guilty of not taking appropriate action to contain large-scale violence during the Jat agitation.
The Haryana government last week replaced state home secretary P.K. Das with senior IAS officer Ram Niwas.
Director general of police Yash Pal Singhal too was replaced by IPS officer K.P. Singh.
Shrikant Jadhav, the inspector general of police of Rohtak range, worst affected by the violence, was transferred out and suspended in March.
