Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Thiago Motta said on Monday that he would be ready to leave the team and that staying would be provisional upon clarifying his role with the French football club.

"I am open to all. To leave, as well. Am I ready to stay? Maybe. We will see. I know my importance to the team. Maybe I am wrong, or maybe PSG management is wrong. But we have to find an agreement for the good of the club," said the Italian international, reports Efe.

Motta pointed out that he has always put the club first, ever since he moved from Inter Milan in January 2012, but that he should also think about his own career. He added that he has not spoken with club president Nasser al-Khelaifi, admitting that the Qatari does not appreciate his importance in the team.

Motta said that the summer market is open until August 31 and that he would speak with PSG staff to find the best option. "In the end, what is important is not me or the management or the players. It is the club."

In late July, Motta said he would like to sign with Atletico Madrid, where he played from 2007 to 2008.
