India's Mudit Dani and Tanushree Das Gupta registered contrasting victories to enter the semifinals of junior boys and girls singles, respectively, at the Jordan Junior and Cadet Open Table Tennis Championship here.
Mudit dominated his quarterfinal on Monday against Abdulaziz Shulabi Bu of Saudi Arabia, registering a 11-7, 10-12, 11-4, 11-8, 11-8 win. In the earlier round, he outplayed Filip Karlsson of Sweden 11-7, 11-4, 11-4, 11-7.
The unseeded Tanushree had a tougher time. Up against Azerbaijan's Zhou Chuyi, she lost three consecutive games before making a superb comeback to clinch a 11-8, 7-11, 5-11, 14-16, 15-13, 11-7, 11-8 win. She will meet top seed Pauline Chasselin of France in the last four stage.
