World No.1 Rafael Nadal will face fellow Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver in the first round of the Rio Open Tuesday, officials said.
The ATP 500 tournament, which begins Monday, has a strong Iberian flavour with the draw also featuring Spain's David Ferrer, Tommy Robredo, Nicolas Almagro, Marcel Granollers, Pablo Andujar, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Albert Montanes and Pablo Carreno Busta, reported Xinhua.
Nadal had an early-morning practice session Saturday before visiting Rio's iconic Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado mountain.
The media reported that the 27-year-old will attend Sunday's local football derby between Vasco da Gama and Flamengo.
The Rio Open will be played on clay at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio's southern neighbourhood of Gavea.
