The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has launched schemes to provide legal assistance to senior citizens and acid attacks victims, an official said on Thursday.
The schemes were launched on "Legal Services Day" organised by NALSA on Wednesday, when it they also launched two training modules - one for legal services lawyers and the other for probation officers attached to Juvenile Justice Boards.
The programme was organised in association with Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
The official further said that awards for the best DLSAs and Best Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of six zones were also presented. Jodhpur Metro, Rajasthan was awarded as the National best DLSA while Raghav Singh Rathour of Madhya Pradesh's Bind was deemed the best PLV.
