The newly formed Naya Daur Party (NDP) announced on Wednesday that it will contest the Bihar assembly election.

NDP president Sanjeev Chhiber said his party was the only option for the people of Bihar to free themselves from its caste-ridden politics.

He said the NDP was a party of professionals with "coherent well thought out policies" and it will contest from most of the 243 seats.

"NDP's motto is 'Unite and Rule'. We will support all parties who work for the national interest," he said.
